This is a personal site run by Chris Powell ("I", "me", or "my"). This page explains what the site keeps when you use it, how long it keeps it, and who else handles it. The short version: no accounts, no ad trackers, nothing sold, and the free text you type is scrubbed of email addresses and phone numbers before it is stored.
For how the AI chat is kept honest about what it says, see Guardrails.
When you ask the chat a question, the site keeps a log of that exchange so I can see what people ask and fix answers that miss. Each log entry holds:
Before anything is written, email addresses, phone numbers, card numbers, and Social Security numbers are replaced with placeholders like [redacted-email]. Chat logs are deleted automatically after 90 days by a nightly job. What survives past that is a count of chats per day, with no text attached.
If you use "report a problem" in the chat, the report keeps the same scrubbed question and answer, plus any note you add, so I can fix it.
The feedback buttons and boxes on the site store what you write, a rating where there is one, and a timestamp. That text goes through the same scrubbing as the chat. Feedback ratings and notes kept in the site database are deleted after 90 days. The short feedback and question lists behind my dashboard hold only the most recent 5,000 entries; older ones drop off as new ones arrive.
The site counts page views with its own small logger, not a third-party analytics service. Each view records the page path, the referring page if your browser sends one, and a timestamp, plus a daily visit count. Only the most recent 5,000 page views are kept.
If something breaks in your browser, the site records the error type, a scrubbed error message, and the random browser ID so I can find the bug. Error records are deleted after 90 days.
The resume tool lets you upload your own resume so the site can draft a tailored version. Your files are read in memory and the text is pulled out; the original file is never written to disk, file storage, or a database. The extracted text lives in a temporary session that expires one hour after your last activity (you can extend it a few times while you work). There is no long-term copy and no admin view of anyone's uploaded resume. The session is bound to your browser, so a different browser cannot open it even with the session link.
The chat and the tools that call an AI model are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a person, not a script, is using them. To do that, Cloudflare receives a check token from your browser and your IP address, and handles them under its own privacy policy.
Your IP address is also used as a short-lived counter that limits how many requests one visitor can send per minute. Those counters expire on their own and are not stored with anything you typed.
None of this is used for advertising, and I do not sell, rent, or trade anything collected here.
The site sets no cookies on visitors. Your browser keeps a couple of random IDs in local storage (the chat ID and the resume tool ID described above), which you can clear at any time by clearing site data.
The only cookie the site sets is an admin sign-in cookie for me. It is set when I sign in to the admin pages, page scripts cannot read it, it is only sent back to this site, and it expires after 8 hours.
This section covers the SMS messaging program associated with the toll-free phone number +1 (866) 310-5463. This is a personal, private notification system operated under the brand DadOps. It is not a commercial messaging service, marketing program, or public-facing product. See the opt-in page for how recipients enroll and the SMS terms for the program terms.
The following information is collected and stored in connection with the SMS program:
Collected information is used solely to:
This information is not used for advertising, profiling, or any commercial purpose.
I do not sell, rent, trade, or share personal information with third parties for any marketing or commercial purpose. Message delivery relies on Twilio, Inc. as a telecommunications provider. Twilio processes messages in accordance with their own privacy policy. No other third parties receive personal data collected through this program.
Message logs are stored locally and are not shared externally. Logs are retained for cost monitoring purposes and may be deleted at any time at my discretion.
The designated recipient may opt out of receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, no further messages will be sent unless the recipient explicitly re-opts in. To get help, reply HELP.
Reasonable technical measures are in place to protect stored information, including encrypted credentials, access-controlled systems, and an explicit phone number allowlist that prevents messages from being sent to any number not pre-approved.
You can use the site without the chat or the resume tool. If you want something you wrote removed from the logs before the 90 days are up, email me with roughly when you wrote it and what it said, and I will delete it.
